After the listening – tour across the seven political wards in Ikorodu Local Government, Prince Adedayo Ladega, Executive Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government is set to start actualising and executing some of the programmes and projects that were garnered during the needs assessment meetings with residents.
The two roads that the council will be commencing soon – the Link Road connecting Adisa Akinleye Street, Alamala Junction in Aga Ireshe to the Adaraloye Community and Lawal Olorunnishola Street in Sabo, Ikorodu, shall serve as strategic bypass to ease traffic congestion in and around the town.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Akeem Mustapha, at the weekend it was said the council boss conducted inspection tour on the link road in Aga Area of Ikorodu on Friday, after his earlier inspection of the proposed road construction at Sabo on Monday.

“The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega, continues to lead with vision and dedication. Earlier on Friday, 19th September 2025, he conducted an inspection of the Link Road connecting Adisa Akinleye Street, Alamala Junction in Aga Ireshe, and the Adaraloye Community.
“This inspection follows his earlier visit to Lawal Olorunnishola Street in Sabo, Ikorodu, on Monday, 15th September 2025, demonstrating the administration’s proactive approach to enhancing road infrastructure across Ikorodu.
According to Hon. Ladega, “The upcoming projects are set to be executed and delivered in a timely manner. They are strategically designed to serve as bypasses that will reduce traffic congestion, improve accessibility, and stimulate economic growth within the Local Government Area.”

“Aside providing a motorable link road that will give residents easy access, the proposed construction project which has a major canal, according to the statement will give the community a good drainage system.
“One key component of these initiatives is a canal construction project on Adisa Akinleye Street, aimed at improving drainage and mitigating flood risks in the Aga Ireshe Area.
“These projects are part of the outcomes from Hon. Ladega’s ward-to-ward listening tour, during which he engaged directly with residents to understand their concerns and priorities. This ensures that the initiatives are aligned with the real needs of the communities.”

“Hon. Ladega’s administration remains committed to transforming Ikorodu through sustainable development and strong community collaboration, in line with his administration’s S.E.E.D Agenda,” the statement added.
